Elena Hensel

Originally from southwest Michigan, Elena graduated in December of 2020 from Oakland University in Rochester, MI with her degree in Vocal Performance, and moved to Chicago soon after. During her time at Oakland she sang with the University Chorus, Oakland Chorale, Oakland Jazz Singers, Golden Grizzly Jazz Singers, and Oakland Symphony Orchestra. Elena was also a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for two years prior to the pandemic.

In Chicago, in addition to singing with La Caccina, Elena has also performed with Chicago Chamber Choir, Stare at the Sun, and Chicago Opera Theatre. During the day, Elena works at a small cafe in the Ravenswood area. In her free time, she loves reading Kurt Vonnegut books, listening to true crime podcasts, drinking coffee and craft beer, and singing to her house plants.
